Connie Skousen, watercolors

Art has been a passion of Connie's since she was a child.  Although she has developed her own style, she has taken courses from Walter Hood at the University of Montana and also attended classes with Judy Betts.

Connie shared a Missoula, Montana studio with another artist for 11 year, and her watercolors were juried into several shows, including the Missoula Museum of Art, Electrum, Helena, Mt. Cody Wyoming, Water Media Montana, and the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center.  In 1998 she juried into the Southern Arizona Watercolor Society.

In the mid-eighties, Connie applied for an arts grant to create an all-women's show at the Missoula Museum of Art.  It was the largest reception the museum had ever had.

Connie loves painting on location, so the warm winter months in Ajo allow her to paint year-round.  In Arizona she is an active member of the Ajo Desert Artists' Guild.
